A Covenant toward One World Religion

The Pope And Islam’s Most Important Imam Just Signed A Covenant That Pushes Us Much Closer To A One World Religion

A historic interfaith covenant was signed in the Middle East on Monday, and the mainstream media in the United States has been almost entirely silent about it.  Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb is considered to be the most important imam in Sunni Islam, and he arrived at the signing ceremony in Abu Dhabi with Pope Francis “hand-in-hand in a symbol of interfaith brotherhood”.  But this wasn’t just a ceremony for Catholics and Muslims.  According to a British news source, the signing of this covenant was done “in front of a global audience of religious leaders from Christianity, Islam, Judaism and other faiths”…

“The pope and the grand imam of al-Azhar have signed a historic declaration of fraternity, calling for peace between nations, religions and races, in front of a global audience of religious leaders from Christianity, Islam, Judaism and other faiths.

“Pope Francis, the leader of the world’s Catholics, and Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb, the head of Sunni Islam’s most prestigious seat of learning, arrived at the ceremony in Abu Dhabi hand-in-hand in a symbol of interfaith brotherhood.”

In other words, there was a concerted effort to make sure that all of the religions of the world were represented at this gathering.

According to the official Vatican website, a tremendous amount of preparation went in to the drafting of this document, and it encourages believers from all religions “to shake hands, embrace one another, kiss one another, and even pray” with one another…

Pope Francis in United Arab Emirates (2019)

We must carefully listen to what leaders are saying to “the masses” and pray for discernment. I agree with the pope when he said, “… that God does not require ‘superhuman’ gestures … “He asked us to produce just one work of art, possible for everyone: our own life.”

However, there is something within this clip that does not stand up to the truth pf God’s Word. See if you can identify what stood out to me …

Pope Francis celebrates Mass in Abu Dhabi

Pope Francis on Tuesday wrapped up his papal visit to the United Arab Emirates by celebrating Mass in Abu Dhabi, calling on the people to remain humble in their service to God. About 180,000 people turned out at the Zayed Sports City Stadium for the largest Christian gathering on the Arabian Peninsula, Vatican spokesman Alessandro Gisotti said. The attendees included nationals from 100 countries and some 4,000 Muslims, according to organizers.

During his homily, Francis encouraged the faithful, many of them manual laborers, that God does not require “superhuman” gestures from them. “He asked us to produce just one work of art, possible for everyone: our own life,” he said.

Earlier in the day, Francis visited and prayed with attendees at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Abu Dhabi. On Monday, he met with official and religious leaders after a grand reception from the country. He encouraged them to reject war and resist “the arming of borders, the raising of walls,” adding, “There is no alternative: We will either build the future together or there will be no future.”

Did you notice this line: “He encouraged them to reject war and resist the arming of borders, the raising of walls, adding, ‘There is no alternative: We will either build the future together or there will be no future.’”

I’m left wondering, when are they going to tear down the walls that surround the Vatican? And, who was he specifically speaking to when he said, “WE will either build the future together or …”?

Anyone who has read the Old Testament or relevant sections of it will realize that the argument against President Trump’s call for a border wall does not coincide with Scripture. Perhaps some extra-biblical literature that I’m unaware of?

It’s important not to pick and choose verses in the Bible that support a particular point or opinion. ALWAYS look at the context from which a quote is taken.

The Pitfalls Of Chrislam – Christian Women Take Up the Hijab

News Image

MAY 10, 2016

(Emphasis is mine. — PY)

Is it OK for a Christian to wear a hijab (Islamic headscarf for women), or show solidarity with Muslims in other ways considered spiritually related? Are Muslims and Christians serving and worshiping the same God?

These and other related questions continue to be in the forefront of religious debates that focus on doctrines and practices that seek to merge Islam and Christianity into ‘Chrislam’ a hybrid of both faiths with which, it is hoped, both Muslims and Christians will be comfortable.

It is also noteworthy that it is professing Christians who, for the most part, are making the necessary compromises for this ‘Chrislam’ union to be possible.

One development that has drawn attention to this topic has been the wearing of the hijab by professing Christian women. One such case involved Martha DeVries, 47, who serves as a high school counselor and attends Chandler Baptist Church in Liberty, MO. Her husband, Mike, serves part-time as a youth pastor.

She said that not only does she have a common ancestry with Muslims, but that Christians and Muslims worship the same God. “I stand in religious solidarity with Muslims because they, like me, a Christian, are people of the book,” Hawkins asserted. “And as Pope Francis stated last week, we worship the same God.”

Hawkins eventually left the college after controversy erupted, not about her hijab, but her assertion that Christians and Muslims worship the same God. This belief is widely rejected as unscriptural by many Christians such as Thabiti Anyabwile, pastor of Anacostia River Church in Washington, D.C. He noted that inasmuch as Muslims do not worship Jesus, Who is God, Christians and Muslims, therefore, do not worship the same God.

“No one knows God who does not know the Son, who is the only mediator between God and man,” Anyabwile said. “The goal of Christianity is the salvation of sinners through the righteousness, substitutionary atonement, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.”

With further reference to Hawkins, James Hoffmeier wrote last December for the gospelcoalition.org: “… With such blatant persecution of Christians in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa by various Islamic jihadists, it’s perplexing that Hawkins would seek to draw attention to and identify with Muslims instead of the Christians whose suffering far surpasses any alienation Muslims might feel in America.

Further, an Egyptian anthropologist who is a professor in America said:

“If [Hawkins] is concerned about the cause of the oppressed, there are many Christian and non-Christian organizations she can join that are really bringing change to people’s lives. Many such organizations are working with Middle Eastern refugees at different campsites. Our focus should be on such groups–Yazidis, Christians, Alawites, and moderate Muslims–who are experiencing genocide…”

… Is this pro-hijab push a new trend with Christian women? Hardly. Late 2014, dailymail.co.uk reported the case of Kate Leaney, 27, a committed Christian from Adelaide Australia who had been wearing a hijab every day in an act of ‘love and solidarity’ with her many Muslim friends.

… The authors of the washingtonpost.com article, Asra Q. Nomani and Hala Arafa further stated: “We reject this interpretation that the ‘hijab’ is merely a symbol of modesty and dignity adopted by faithful female followers of Islam…This conflation of hijab with the secular word ‘headscarf’ is misleading. ‘Hijab’ literally means, ‘curtain’ in Arabic. It also means ‘hiding’, ‘obstructing’ and ‘isolating’ someone or something. It is never used in the Koran to mean headscarf...No matter what formula you use, ‘hijab’ never means headscarf.  The media must stop spreading this misleading interpretation”.

They then proceed to clarify in disturbing terms their assessment of the true meaning of the hijab: “To us, the hijab is a symbol of an interpretation of Islam we reject that believes that women are a sexual distraction to men, who are weak, and thus must not be tempted by the sight of our hair. We don’t buy it. This ideology promotes a social attitude that absolves men of sexually harassing women and puts the onus on the victim to protect herself by covering up”.

Their advice to Christian women? “Please do this instead: Do not wear a headscarf in ‘solidarity’ with the ideology that most silences us, equating our bodies with ‘honor.’ Stand with us instead with moral courage against the ideology of Islamism that demands we cover our hair.

An article published in December 2015 by patheos.com also examined what it means to wear the hijab.  Its author, ‘Jane the Actuary’ concluded: Here’s the bottom line:  wearing hijab is a religious act….In other words, hijab-wearing is, in America, a  form of religious identification, a way to show the outside world that you are Muslim.  It’s a way to take on a religious practice, to commit yourself to greater devotion even at a cost — in which the actual practice doesn’t matter so much as the intention that, in doing so, one commits oneself to God more fully…But the bottom line is this:  given what hijab is fundamentally about, is it appropriate for a Christian to wear it?”

… “To me, there are two things troubling here,” said Shahram Hadian, who grew up Muslim in Iran and emigrated to Canada before moving to Washington state and becoming an evangelical Christian pastor.

Hadian said the Muslim Students Association (MSA) indoctrination campaign has been rampant on college campuses for years but now it is mobilizing in U.S. high schools as well. At Boise State University, for example, the MSA holds an Islamic Week every year and for an entire day during that week, they encourage every woman on campus to wear the hijab.

“But the troubling thing is this:  how is MSA now getting access to our high schools? And number two: how is that not the state promoting a religion?” Hadian said of the Chicago event.

Would the high school, for instance, allow a Christian student group to encourage non-Christian students to wear crosses for a day? Or what about a Jewish group encouraging Muslims to wear the Star of David?

“It’s just hypocrisy at its pinnacle,” Hadian said. But the Muslim Brotherhood is very clever in the use of propaganda, he said, and apparently the atheist lawyers at the ACLU have given the MSA a pass.

… Dr. Mark Christian, a former child-imam who grew up in Egypt and now lives as a Christian in Nebraska, said Western cultures are making a huge mistake by embracing a key element of Shariah.

“At a time when a rising number of Muslim women in the Middle East, especially in Egypt, are taking off their hijab for good, liberating themselves from its symbolism of enslavement and inequality and from being labeled as radical Muslims in the wake of the Arab Spring and the reality of radical Islam that it brought in the Middle East, and at a time when many Muslim women are trying to find their freedom and advocating for the freedom of their fellow Muslim women, I find it treasonous that in America liberals are resorting to such actions, encouraging hijab and enslavement of women and labeling them as a sex objects,” said Christian, who heads up the Global Faith Institute.

“When those in the West advocate for hijab, they are not siding with the peaceful Muslims but with the radicals,” he said. “They are not advocating freedom but enabling and encouraging torture, inequality and the inhumane treatment of women in Islam.”

John detailed this vision in the Revelation of Jesus Christ, which features global religion being forced upon the inhabitants of earth:

11 “Then I saw a second beast [the false prophet], coming out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon. 12 It exercised all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast [the Antichrist], whose fatal wound had been healed. 13 And it performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to the earth in full view of the people. 14 Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. 15 The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.” (Revelation 13:11-15)

In other words, a global ruler (Revelation 13:1-8) will be “given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation” (Revelation 13:7). A “false prophet” (Revelation 19:20) will address the inhabitants of the earth and, somehow, FORCE people to worship an image of the Antichrist OR BE KILLED.

*   *   *

All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—

all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life,

the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world.

Whoever has ears, let them hear.

‘If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity they will go.

If anyone is to be killed with the sword,

with the sword they will be killed.’

This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of God’s people.”

(Revelation 13:8-10, NIV)

Pope Francis embraces “Chrislam” (2015)

Pope Francis Embraces Chrislam And Lays A Foundation For A One World Religion

September 29, 2015

End Of The American Dream Blog / Michael Snyder

Remarks made by Pope Francis at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan have sparked a firestorm of criticism from those that do not believe that Christians and Muslims worship the same God.

Many have taken the Pope’s remarks as a major step in the direction of a one world religion, and the truth is that the Pope has made other such statements in the past.

In recent years, the theory that Christianity and Islam are just two distinct paths to God among many others has rapidly gained traction all over the planet. Some religious leaders have even gone so far as to try to merge Islamic and Christian practices, and the term “Chrislam” is now often used to describe this ecumenical movement.

If all this sounds incredibly strange to you, just keep reading, because this is just the tip of the iceberg.

What Pope Francis had to say at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan has received very little coverage by the mainstream media, but it was exceedingly significant. The following is how he began his address…

“I would like to express two sentiments for my Muslim brothers and sisters: Firstly, my greetings as they celebrate the feast of sacrifice. I would have wished my greeting to be warmer. My sentiments of closeness, my sentiments of closeness in the face of tragedy. The tragedy that they suffered in Mecca.

“In this moment, I give assurances of my prayers. I unite myself with you all. A prayer to almighty god, all merciful.”

He did not choose those words by accident. In Islam, Allah is known as “the all-merciful one”.

And this is not the first time Pope Francis has used such language. For instance, the following comes from remarks that he made during his very first ecumenical meeting as Pope…

“I then greet and cordially thank you all, dear friends belonging to other religious traditions; first of all the Muslims, who worship the one God, living and merciful, and call upon Him in prayer, and all of you. I really appreciate your presence: in it I see a tangible sign of the will to grow in mutual esteem and cooperation for the common good of humanity.

The Catholic Church is aware of the importance of promoting friendship and respect between men and women of different religious traditions – I wish to repeat this: promoting friendship and respect between men and women of different religious traditions – it also attests the valuable work that the Pontifical Council for interreligious dialogue performs.

Pope Francis clearly believes that Christians and Muslims worship the exact same God. And so that helps to explain why he authorized “Islamic prayers and readings from the Quran” at the Vatican for the first time ever back in 2014.

Catholicism and Islam are the two largest religions on the entire planet, and so any one world religion would need to incorporate both of those belief systems. Sadly, this Pope seems to be quite eager to lay the groundwork for such a one world religion.

Pope Francis made another statement at St. Patrick’s Cathedral that has shocked believers all over the planet. Apparently this Pope seems to think that the cross was a “failure”…

“The cross shows us a different way of measuring success. Ours is to plant the seeds. God sees to the fruits of our labors. And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and not produce fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus Christ and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross.”

After he made that statement, he didn’t continue to go on and explain that the cross was ultimately a great victory. He just ended his thought and moved on to other topics.

Needless to say, many are extremely upset by this. The following comes from Leo Zagami of Infowars.com…

These words have of course outraged most true Christians around the world who cannot imagine Christianity without the value of the cross, which symbolizes the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus for mankind. It’s impossible for a Christian of any denomination to imagine the very essence of their faith being discussed in this way, let alone by the Pope. The fact that blood was shed on the cross by Jesus for the ultimate self-sacrifice that could help rid mankind of all sins is one of those essentials of the Faith that should never be questioned.

The mainstream media persists with their undying affection for Pope Francis, never commenting on this outrageous statement.

But even though the Pope is saying things like this, his legend just seems to grow by the day. Even in the United States, throngs of faithful devotees are treating him like he is some sort of supernatural being…

Everywhere he goes, Pope Francis attracts worshipful crowds of people, straining and reaching to touch any part of him as if something spiritual and holy could be imparted to them by doing so. People weep, they cry, they hold up their sick children and beg him to touch them in the hopes they will be healed.

And this is even true of members of Congress. Just check out the behavior that some of them have displayed…

Representative Bob Brady, a devout Catholic and Democrat from Pennsylvania immediately made his way to the podium after Pope Francis finished speaking and grabbed the glass that was still filled with water. He then drank the water, gave some of the water to his wife Debra, and saved the rest for his grandchildren. Representative Brady took photos as well, and had his staff send them out to the press. He also shared some of the water with members of his staff and assistant, also a devout Catholic. As for the saved water, he plans to sprinkle it on his grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

I don’t know about you, but major alarm bells start going off for me when I read stuff like this.

We are witnessing the initial stages of the rise of a one world religion, and much of the planet is ultimately going to embrace it.

The dragon [Satan] stood on the shore of the sea.

And I saw a beast coming out of the sea….

People worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast,

and they also worshiped the beast and asked,

‘Who is like the beast? Who can wage war against it?’…

Then I saw a second beast, coming out of the earth.

It had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon.

It exercised all the authority of the first beast on its behalf,

and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast

Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast,

it deceived the inhabitants of the earth.

It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast …

The second beast was given power

to give breath to the image of the first beast …

and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.

It also forced all people,

great and small, rich and poor, free and slave,

to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads,

so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark,

which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.”

(Revelation 13:1-17, NIV)

“But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.”

(Revelation 19:20, NIV)
