All they needed was an opening. And for the rich extremists at the helm of the West’s social media, last Wednesday’s riot gave them one. The purging of conservative expression has begun. We knew it was coming — just as we’ve always known it will take every one of us to stop it.
Most Americans thought they understood censorship. They’ve watched it evolve and expand this last decade, scooping up more people in its nets in the name of “tolerance,” “diversity,” and “non-violence.” But what happened this weekend was not a tweet blocked here or an account suspended there.

No, this was much more ominous. What Twitter, Facebook, Google, and Amazon did by locking out the president wasn’t just a heavy-handed punishment of Donald Trump and his supporters — it was a scorched-earth campaign against the tens of millions of people who dare to think differently than they do and the open forums that give our movement a voice..

“Amazon will be shutting off all of our servers,” Parler’s John Matze announced to stunned surprise on Saturday. It was the second major bombshell to drop in the new war between Big Tech and the other half of the country.
After careful, behind-the-scenes coordination from Silicon Valley’s chiefs, the popular alternative to Twitter was scrubbed from the Apple store, Google Play, and any other place users could download the app. “We will try our best,” Matze insisted, “to move to a new provider…”
But in the meantime, the message to conservatives is clear: Big Tech isn’t just coming for Trump. They’re coming for all of us — and corporate America isn’t far behind….

The United States Army Field Band performs the famous Civil War-era piece, “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”

Mine eyes have seen the glory

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.

Refrain:
Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah! His truth is marching on.

I have seen Him in the watch fires of a hundred circling camps
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps;
His day is marching on. (Refrain …)

I have read a fiery Gospel writ in burnished rows of steel;
“As ye deal with My contemners, so with you My grace shall deal”;
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with His heel,
Since God is marching on. (Refrain …)

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment seat;
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet;
Our God is marching on. (Refrain …)

In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free;
While God is marching on. (Refrain …)

He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
He is wisdom to the mighty, He is honor to the brave;
So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of Time His slave,
Our God is marching on. (Refrain …)

Just the tip of the iceberg’: FBI and DOJ promise to charge hundreds over Capitol riot

By DAVID KNOWLES

In their first public comments since a pro-Trump mob stormed the U.S. Capitol, officials from the FBI and the Department of Justice said that hundreds of arrests were likely in connection with the Jan. 6 riot, in which five people died, including a police officer.

“In six days we have opened over 160 case files, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg,” Steven D’Antuono, FBI assistant director in charge of the Washington, D.C., field office, said at a Tuesday news conference. “The significance of this investigation is not lost on us. This is a 24/7, full-bore, extensive operation into what happened that day.”

“Since our call for tips, videos and pictures, we have received more than 100,000 pieces of digital media, which is absolutely fantastic,” D’Antuono said. “We are scouring every one for investigative and intelligence leads.”

D’Antuono asked the public to continue sending information about those who took part in the melee by calling 1-800-CALLFBI or submitting photos and videos to FBI.gov/uscapitol.

“I want to stress that the FBI has a long memory and a broad reach,” D’Antuono said, adding, “Agents from our offices will be knocking on your door if we found out that you were part of the criminal activity at the Capitol.”

Under fire over apparent lapses in preparedness for the chaos that followed Trump’s Jan. 6 “Stop the Steal” rally in Washington, D’Antuono said the FBI had developed intelligence that some individuals were planning to travel to the D.C. area with intentions to cause violence.”

D’Antuono cited the arrest of Proud Boys founder Enrique Tarrio the day before the rally as an example, and said the FBI had disrupted the travel plans of others around the country, preventing them from joining the mob in D.C.

But in light of Trump’s promotion of the rally for weeks in advance, and online activity surrounding it presaged violence, it was notable that neither FBI Director Christopher Wray nor acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen attended the press conference.

World Leaders Denounce Big Tech Censorship of President Donald Trump

January 12, 2021

Political elites worldwide have criticized big tech companies for banning President Donald Trump from their social media platforms.

At present, the president has been banned from Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Snapchat, Reddit, and Instagram.

Twitter permanently removed Trump’s account, saying that his recent posts were in violation of the “Glorification of Violence Policy.”

German Chancellor Angela Merkel called Twitter’s ban on Trump “problematic,” and said that freedom of opinion is an essential right of “elementary significance,” her spokesperson, Steffen Siebert, said on Jan 11.

“This fundamental right can be intervened in, but according to the law and within the framework defined by legislators—not according to a decision by the management of social media platforms,” Siebert said.

“Seen from this angle, the chancellor considers it problematic that the accounts of the U.S. president have now been permanently blocked,” he said.

Members of the French government agreed.
