Remembering “The Harbinger” and its author …

In 2013 the Holy Spirit led me to a book that was a “red pill” for me. If you have watched “The Matrix” you know that taking a “blue pill” means you are satisfied with things as they are — no questions asked. Choosing to take the “red pill” means that you desire to go deeper and explore beneath the surface of what most people consider “normal.”
The blue pill causes one to view the world as we’ve been taught to understand it.
The red pill reveals the world as it truly is behind smoke screens and mirrored reflections.
The Harbinger by Rabbi Jonathan Cahn is for those who choose to be “red-pilled.” It’s for those who may sense the presence of God but have difficulty describing it. It is miraculous storytelling with many twists of truth.
First let’s get to know the author …

Jonathan attended synagogue from an early age, but he discerned a disconnect between what was being taught and what he observed in modern life.

At age 8, Jonathan decided that God does not exist. At age 13, he became disillusioned with atheism and started searching for answers to his questions.

After a long search, Jonathan concluded that Yeshua, Jesus, is the only person who fulfilled ancient prophecies that foretold the coming of the Jewish Messiah. But his search was intellectual rather than based on a heart-changing decision to know the Son of God.

Jonathan understood that if he were to die, he would be on “the wrong side of judgment. He knew he needed to make a committed decision to follow Jesus, but he DIDN’T WANT TO DO THAT.

SO HE MADE A DEAL WITH GOD … IF God would grant him a long life, Jonathan would turn himself over when he was about to die … in other words, on his deathbed.

Shortly after that his car swerved out of control into oncoming traffic. He should have been killed, but was not injured. It seemed a miracle had occurred.

Then there was a second accident.  His car (with him in it) was completely destroyed when hit by a train. This time he called out to God. And he walked away without so much as a scratch!

SO JONATHAN NEGOTIATED WITH GOD. He promised that he would become a disciple of Christ … on his 20th birthday (about 8 months in the future).  On that day, he drove up a mountain overlooking the Hudson Reiver in New York, knelt and committed his life to following Jesus.

While in college majoring in history, Jonathan studied the scriptures and realized he was being called into full time ministry. After graduation, he prayed for a job that would be like something Jesus would have done. He was awarded a job working with disabled children. One thing led to another until he was chosen to lead The Jerusalem Center / Beth Israel in Wayne New Jersey, as well as the international ministries of Hope of the World.

P.S. I just realized something. There was a book that stood out to Jonathan Cahn in 1995, which began his journey into Bible prophecy. That book was THE LATE, GREAT PLANET EARTH by Hal Lindsey. In January of 1995, I was in a bookstore and had the same thing happen to me … the book I noticed was the same book! And it is what began my prophecy journey. Praise God! (2/4/19)
