“America is uniquely paralleled to ancient Israel in many ways. From its very conception it was built upon a biblical foundation and dedication for God’s purposes, as was Israel …
“Now, as with ancient Israel, it is falling away from that foundation.”
— Jonathan Cahn
The divine revelation and insight given to Jonathan Cahn — as explained in his books — begins with ancient history. Amazingly, God’s relationship with direct descendants of a man named Abraham and his wife Sarah, known as Israelites, is connected in an amazing way with modern-day American.
ISRAEL was founded on principles given to them by the Lord God to keep them physically, mentally, and spiritually safe from wickedness.
The Hebrew Torah (the first 5 books of the Bible’s Old Testament) was written to remind THE NATION OF ISRAEL of the boundaries set by God. In return for their faithfulness, God promised to provide A SUPERNATURAL HEDGE OF PROTECTION around His people.
The Pilgrims and Puritans intended to establish A NATION GOVERNED BY THE PRINCIPLES GIVEN TO ISRAEL BY GOD.
When George Washington was inaugurated President of the United States, in the first capitol city of New York, he led members of the first Congress to ST. PAUL’S CHURCH where he prayed for God’s HEDGE OF PROTECTION around the fledgling nation..
God called the Israelites “a stiff-necked people” BECAUSE THEY BECAME DEFIANT and insisted on following their own desires rather than adhering to the principles that God had given to keep them safe from wickedness.
The Lord God spoke to Israel through His prophets, who foretold that THE NATION WOULD CHOOSE to worship false gods. ISRAEL would resent GOD’s HEDGE OF PROTECTION and fall away from Him.
For centuries, Americans (collectively) sought to establish and adhere to laws of governance based on the principles given by God to His chosen people, Israel. Their leaders looked to the Lord God for supernatural protection during times of attack from nations who demonstrated aggression and DEFIANCE.
But eventually individuals began to fall away, resenting and abusing God-given laws of governance.
In response to ISRAEL’S DEFIANCE, the Lord God allowed TERRORISTS FROM ASSYRIA to breach His hedge of divine protection and attack the nation.
In 732 B.C., the northern kingdom of ISRAEL was attacked by ASSYRIAN TERRORISTS. The majority of the direct descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were captured and dispersed throughout the known world.
The remaining descendants — primarily the tribes of Judah and Benjamin — could have humbled themselves and enjoyed God’s protection once again. But they CHOSE TO BE DEFIANT, Saying “with pride in their hearts”:
“The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild … ; the fig trees have been felled, but we will replace them” (with stronger stone and sturdier trees).
In response to the DEFIANCE OF AMERICA’S LEADERS, the Lord God allowed DESCENDANTS OF THE ANCIENT ASSYRIANS to breach His hedge of divine protection and attack the nation.
On September 11, 2001, descendants of ancient ASSYRIAN TERRORISTS (who spoke the same language) attacked America’s original capitol and DESTROYED THE TOWERS that symbolized America’s rise as a superpower.
At one corner of Ground Zero, sits a little, old chapel — St. Paul’s Church — where America’s first President and members of Congress prayed for divine protection. As the bricks and towers around it fell, St. Paul’s church was protected by an adjacent sycamore tree (a type of “fig tree”).
On September 12, 2001, America’s Congress gathered in Washington D.C. (the second capitol city) to issue a formal response concerning the devastating 9/11 attacks that had dramatically changed the lives of Americans forever. Unaware of the ancient prophecy, Senator Tom Daschle said in part ;
“There is a passage in the Bible, from Isaiah, that I think speaks to all of us at times like this. ‘The bricks have fallen down, BUT WE WILL REBUILD with dressed stone; the fig trees have been felled, but we will replace them with cedars.’ … That is what we will do. WE WILL REBUILD and WE WILL RECOVER.”.
“It was the reenactment of an ancient mystery —
and bore the most grave of consequences.”
