Part 3: America has been receiving judgment warnings from God!

“America is uniquely paralleled to ancient Israel in many ways. From its very conception it was built upon a biblical foundation and dedicated for God’s purposes, as was Israel…. Now, as with ancient Israel, it is falling away from that foundation.”

— Jonathan Cahn

America Uniquely Parallels Ancient Israel! (Part 3)

DID YOU KNOW?

  •   There is an ancient pattern of judgment that God uses when a nation becomes deaf to his call for a sincere attitude of humility and repentance.

A nation that has been founded on the Word of God will receive a series of warnings (“harbingers”) before judgment finally falls upon that nation’s deaf ears. Because God does not want anyone to perish (2 Peter 3:9), he gives grace to the nation at first. Then a template begins to emerge, which becomes more severe in pattern and progression as the warnings are ignored. This pattern was demonstrated within the recorded family history of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and their descendants — the Hebrews (see Parts 1 and 2 of this series).

  • Instead of humbling themselves before their God, the ancient Hebrews became defiant, and after God sent the king of Babylon to destroy their temple in Jerusalem, they said “with pride and arrogance of heart”:

“The bricks have fallen down,
    but we will rebuild with dressed stone;
the fig trees have been felled,
but we will replace them with cedars.” (Isaiah 9:10)

So the remnant – those left behind after Assyria attacked the northern kingdom’s capital, Samaria – was defiant rather than humbled. They rebuilt with quarried stone and strong wood from cedar trees. But their kingdom was never restored. Instead of “Israel” the region became known as “Samaria” – a melting pot for immigrants.

DID YOU KNOW?

  •  God has been issuing warnings of impending judgment on America, which parallel those issued to ancient Israel — through inspired messages spoken and written by a modern-day Jewish rabbi.

Jonathan Cahn, author of books and DVDs on this subject, is the son of immigrants — his father escaped the Holocaust in Germany and his mother escaped the Russian czar. Both of his parents were scientists.

Jonathan attended synagogue from an early age, but he questioned what he was being taught and became an atheist at the age of 8. When he was 13, he became disillusioned with atheism and started searching for answers to the questions that haunted his thoughts. He began reading books on religion, the supernatural, the occult, etc. until he came across The Late, Great Planet Earth by Hal Lindsey. That book led him to begin searching for truth in the Old Testament of the Bible. After a long search he came to the conclusion that ancient prophecies prove Yeshua, Jesus, is the only person who could be the Jewish Messiah.

Now Jonathan leads the Jerusalem Center / Beth Israel in Wayne, New Jersey, as well as Hope of the World ministries, an international outreach dedicated to spreading God’s word and love around the globe.

Shortly after 9/11/2001, Jonathan was led to read about the Assyrian strike on ancient Israel and to the key scripture that became the focus of his divinely inspired book, The Harbinger“The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with dressed stone; the fig trees have been felled, but we will replace them with cedars.” (Isaiah 9:10). The Harbinger uses a fictional format to reveal spiritual truths to as many people as possible. Jonathan claims that the words would stream onto his computer whenever he sat down to write, as though they had already existed before he typed them.

The book was finished in four months of writing in his spare time. But then he had a problem. He had never written a book before and had no idea how to go about getting it published. But he had no doubt that The Harbinger was from God, so he committed the dilemma to the Lord.

Less than a week after Jonathan finished writing the book, he was  on his way to speak at a Christian gathering in Dallas, Texas. During a lay-over in Charlotte, North Carolina, he sat in the airport and bowed his head to pray that the hand of God would intercede for his purposes and glory alone. When he opened his eyes, a man sitting next to him started a conversation. All of a sudden the man’s demeanor changed, and he began saying that Jonathan was going to publish a book that was “of the Lord.” He foretold that everything in Jonathan’s life was about to change and that he would be known across the land.

The entire encounter paralleled a scene in The Harbinger, which Jonathan had just written, concerning a man who was told by a stranger that he would write a book warning of judgment falling upon America! Hubie Synn was the name of the man who gave that prophecy to Jonathan. He is the same man who spoke to David Tyree before the Super Bowl game in 2008 between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots.

The prophetic word given to David Tyree foretold that he would be given a platform to share the gospel. What followed was nothing less than miraculous. At a key turning point in the game, Tyree jumped into the air, grabbed the football thrown by Eli Manning, pinned it against his helmet and was tackled as he returned to the ground. The play became known as the greatest in Super Bowl history!

David Tyree later wrote a book, and in it he mentioned Hubie Synn, the man who gave him the prophecy. Because of that, Hubie Synn had a connection with the founder and CEO of Charisma Media, publisher of Frontline books, Steve Strang. Hubie sent word to Steve about his encounter in the Charlotte airport “with a Jewish man bearing a message for America.”  That  led to a meeting with Strang, who published The Harbinger in 2012, and within the first week of its release, it became a national bestseller.

Funny thing … Hubie Synn was not supposed to be in the Charlotte airport at the moment he sat down alongside the Jewish man whose head was bowed in prayer. But because of bad weather, his flight had been postponed several times, so he was at last placed on Jonathan’s flight and had felt moved to speak words to him from the Lord!

I feel it’s important to share this amazing testimony with my readers before we delve any deeper into the detailed information revealed within the pages of Jonathan Cahn’s books — The Harbinger, The Harbinger Companion and Bible Study, and The Mystery of the Shemitah — so that YOU will understand why I have felt such a sense of urgency to help Rabbi Jonathan Cahn spread the words that God obviously wants all Americans to hear.

Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit” is saying to America and to the world.

A Harbinger “rewind” …

FOCUS: “How is an ancient pattern and template of judgment and warning actually manifested on American soil?” — Rabbi Jonathan Cahn

The Pattern: Isaiah 9:9-10 lays out the pattern and progression of warnings that become more severe as a nation grows deaf to the voice of God:

“All the people will know it—

Ephraim and the inhabitants of Samaria—
who say with pride
    and arrogance of heart,
10
The bricks have fallen down,
    but we will rebuild with dressed stone;
the sycamore [fig] trees have been felled,
but we will replace them with cedars.”

The pattern includes: the Breach, the Terrorist, the Bricks, the Tower, and the Gazit Stone. Let’s look at each one and compare the signs that appeared in ancient Israel with those that have manifested in America since 9/11/2001…

THE BREACH:

“God’s covenant with Israel included the promise of protection from threats to its safety, security, and existence. This hedge of protection, however, came with a condition — obedience to God’s will…. In response to the sins of the northern kingdom [Israel — 10 tribes], He sent prophets like Elijah, Elisha, Hosea, and Amos. Responding to the trespasses of Judah [the southern kingdom of Judah and Benjamin], He sent prophets like Isaiah and Jeremiah with the same message of warning and repentance…. It was only when the words of both Moses and the prophets fell on deaf ears — when there was no other recourse — that God began to move against the nation’s hedge of protection…. In 732 BC God permitted … the king of Assyria to sack the northern kingdom of Israel. This was a warning, a wakeup call, a foreshadow of what would befall the nation years later if it did not turn back. The same pattern can be seen in the fall and destruction of the southern kingdom of Judah.” [Judah was invaded by the Babylonians in 605 BC, and a majority of its inhabitants were taken to Babylon for 70 years.]

“By the late twentieth century, with prayer removed from the nation’s public schools, expressions of faith increasingly banned from the public square, and revivals less frequent or powerful, America had sunk even further into moral and spiritual declineOn September 11, 2001, America’s hedge of protection was breached. Though many were afraid to say so, across the land many saw it as a wake-up call. There was even an instinctive response throughout the nation to flock to houses of worship…. Without repentance, without a change in course, there can be no revival of hope. And in the months and years after 9/11, America largely returned to business as usual.

THE TERRORIST:

Israel: The terrorists who breached the northern kingdom’s hedge of protection were from the nation of Assyria (had conquered much of the Middle East by 732 BC). They literally struck fear into the hearts of the people using calculated psychological warfare. Iraq was the very land of ancient Assyria.

America: The terrorists who breached America’s defenses on 9/11 (and currently continue to breach our defenses) were based in the territory that once made up ancient Assyria, including the cities of Mosul and Nineveh — the ancient capital of Assyria!

THE VOW:

Israel: In response to the breach in their hedge of protection, ancient Israel vowed to rebuild with stronger materials and to plant heartier trees that could not be easily cut down. The nation defiantly insisted on continuing on course, without God’s help — and to become even stronger than before.

America: In response to the breach America’s security on 9/11, numerous “vows” of defiance were spoken by individuals in authority, from governors to mayors to the president of the United States!

  • Senate majority leader, Tom Daschle (the highest representative of the highest legislative body) was representing the entire nation when he unwittingly said, on September 12, 2001, I know that there is only the smallest measure of inspiration that can be taken from this devastation, but there is a passage in the Bible from Isaiah that I think speaks to all of us at times like this …The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with dressed stone; the sycamore [fig] trees have been felled, but we will replace them with cedars.’ That is what we will do. (He didn’t realize he was reading words that expressed ancient Israel’s defiance!)

THE BRICKS (“The bricks have fallen down”):

Israel: After breaching Israel’s divine hedge of protection, Assyrian terrorists wrought serious physical damage, as evidenced by heaps of bricks from collapsed structures. Those who remained in the land vowed to replace the fallen bricks with hewn stonequarried, chiseled, and carved out of mountain rocka symbol of human strength and greatness.

America: After breaching America’s divine hedge of protection, Assyrian terrorists wrought serious physical damage, as evidenced by heaps of bricks from the collapsed Twin Towers! The first act of America’s rebuilding was to cut out of a mountain, in upper state New York, a massive rectangular block of stone and bring it to the ground where America’s bricks had fallen: “Ground Zero.”

  • Governor George Pataki: “Today, we, the heirs of that revolutionary spirit of defiance, lay this cornerstone.”

THE TOWER (“but we will rebuild”) :

Israel: “The bricks have fallen, but we will rebuild” … Any new construction would represent the embrace of a spirit of defiance to build bigger and stronger.

America: On September 11th, the Twin Towers fell. Following that event, numerous authority figures promised Americans that “we” would rebuild bigger and stronger!

THE SYCAMORE (“The sycamores have been felled”):

Israel: The uprooting of their sycamores was a sign to Israel of uprooting and death. It was a sign of national judgment. The Hebrew sycamore — fig-mulberry in the Greek — was endemic to Israel.

America: There is a western sycamore that is endemic to America. On 9/11, there was a tree growing at the corner of Ground Zero — a sycamore. A shock wave and a steel beam went forth from the falling north tower and struck down the tree. The sycamore had fallen! As Israel’s sycamore trees became a sign of national judgment, the sycamore that fell on 9/11 also became a symbol known as the “Sycamore of Ground Zero.”

NOTE: The tree and its roots were put on display in NYC! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a38MQY-wNdk)

THE CEDAR (“but we will replace them with cedars”):

Israel: By replacing the weak, fallen trees with stronger cedar tree (a cone-bearing evergreen), the Israelites were expressing their spirit of defiance.

America: The felled sycamore tree at Ground Zero was removed. But two years later, a cone-bearing evergreen tree — the ancient tree of defiance — was lowered by crane into the exact spot where the “Sycamore of Ground Zero” had stood. The highly publicized, tree of defiance was named, “The Ground Zero Tree of Hope.”

NOTE: The new tree dithered and died in 2014! (http://www.wnd.com/2014/08/harbinger-author-says-loss-of-tree-of-hope-a-warning/)

“We’ve seen how one scripture, Isaiah 9:10, explicitly contains the harbingers that tell ancient Israel’s story, revealing patterns of defiance to God’s will that are repeated in modern America.” Isaiah 9:8-10 include two more verses that confirm the nation being spoken about is the northern kingdom of Israel, who’s capital city was Samaria:

The Lord has sent a message against Jacob;
    it will fall on Israel.
All the people will know it
Ephraim and the inhabitants of Samaria—
who say with pride
    and arrogance of heart,
10 “The bricks have fallen down,
    but we will rebuild with dressed stone;
the fig trees have been felled,
but we will replace them with cedars.”

Jonathan Cahn points out one more harbinger:

“Simply stated, following a calamity caused by God lifting His hedge of protection on a backslidden nation, a nation’s leaders respond with public defiance. They boast of their countries resolve and power…. They speak of a nation defiant and determined to emerge stronger than ever. The words become a vow. The vow gives voice to a national spirit and seals the nation’s course. It all takes place in its capital city.

“Has this harbinger, the Utterance, like the previous harbingers, been manifested in America? Yes.”

I’m going to paraphrase from her to shorten the post:

On September 11, 2004, during a presidential election campaign, America remembered the third anniversary of 9/11. John Edwards, the Republican vice president candidate and a senator, spoke at a gathering of a congressional caucus in Washington D.C.  He began by saying, “Good morning. Today, on this day of remembrance and mourning, we have the Lord’s Word to get us through. Then he proceeded to read Isaiah 9:10, uttering Israel’s ancient vow on behalf of America. Unwittingly, he was highlighting his nation’s defiance in response to calamity! In other words, “the utterance” by  a major American candidate for high office joined Israel’s defiant response — in the face of God’s judgment following Assyria’s attack — joined America’s post-9/11 defiance with that of ancient Israel!

John Edward’s entire speech was built around Isaiah 9:10. (He had no idea that he was being used by God to fulfill prophecy!) He had intended to deliver a speech that would inspire a hurting nation. Rather, he was pronouncing judgment on America.

And finally, the last harbinger:

THE PROPHECY:

The last Harbinger is especially prophetic in foretelling what is yet to happen….

“In the wake of a calamity, the nation responds through a vow. The vow sets it on a rebellious course ending in judgment. The words of the vow become part of a prophetic revelation given to the whole nation, an indictment of it, a foretelling of its future, a warning of its judgment.”

Earlier, on the day following the terrorist attacks on America, Senator Tom Daschle had uttered Isaiah 9:10 in his speech on behalf of the nation. He had ended his speech with these defiant words of connection to the ancient prophecy: “That is what we will do.” In essence, he said — unwittingly — that America would follow in the footsteps of ancient Israel!

I’m going to close Part 3 with another Jonathan Cahn quote that I hope will speak to a question that, by now, you should be asking …

How can a man who is not a prophet speak prophetically? The Bible gives the answer. Men who are not prophets and who may not even know God or, in some cases, be against Him may speak prophetically and say things on two levels without even realizing what they’re saying. So the Gospels record that this very thing happened in the case of Caiaphas when he plotted to murder Yeshua, Jesus. Yet the very words of the plot had another meaning: that it was necessary for one man to die as a sacrifice so that the people would not perish.”

Coming Next: Did You Know? … The attack on 9/11 paralleled Assyria’s attack on ancient Israel!
